The photographs were taken by Jadwiga Nowak-Jeziorańska over a period of more than twenty years and on four continents. Greta was not a professional photographer, her main occupation after the war was to support the professional activity of her husband, Jan Nowak-Jeziorański, and run the house. This is what the title of the exhibition refers to (“Extracurricular activities”), namely occupations she took up only for herself, in addition to her chores, because she herself considered them to be her “extra jobs”.
The exhibition called “Black dress. Patriotic women in the fight for freedom” (September 15, 2023–January 28, 2024) is dedicated to the role of women in the greatest national uprising of the 19th century, i.e. the January Uprising. Its 160th anniversary is celebrated in 2023. The exhibition takes place at the Pan Tadeusz Museum (Branch of the Ossoliński National Institute) and comprises two parts: the first one is devoted to the contribution of Polish women to the January Uprising, while the second one refers to more modern times, namely the revolutionary uprisings of women of the “Solidarity” period. The exhibition reminds visitors of the great commitment of Polish patriotic women who ardently fought for freedom in large numbers.
„Fredro for Children” exhibition is part of the 7th Literary Traditions Festival. The author of „The Revenge” is one of its patrons, together with a poet Wisława Szymborska. The festival’s mission is to remind about works by authors considered classics and – which often goes hand in hand – read mostly by reluctant students and Polish literature scholars.
We cordially invites you to a temporary exhibition devoted to Adam Mickiewicz’s “Dziady”. The exhibition aims to look at the expansive universe of the work by presenting the enormous ethnographic, literary and theatrical potential inherent in Mickiewicz’s work. The idea behind the exhibition is the political context of the drama, or rather the role of its specific staging – “Dziady” directed by Kazimierz Dejmek and performed at Teatr Narodowy, discontinued in the early 1968, widely considered to be the catalyst for the March Events.

The "Printers and Romances" exhibition accompanies the Year of Polish Romanticism, i.e. the bicentenary of the publication of Adam Mickiewicz’s volume of poetry with the famous "Ballads and Romances" at Józef Zawadzki’s printing house in Vilnius. Zawadzki’s company released works in the spirit of Enlightenment, with ambitions to explore and describe the world. In 1822, he also published a literary bomb – Mickiewicz's debut. The historical artifacts presented at the exhibition are being confronted with works by contemporary artist Piotr Bosacki. The dilemma between feeling and believing and the eye and the glass featured in the Romanticism ballad proves to be surprisingly current.
"Illustrating Konopnicka" exhibition is part of the 6th Literary Traditions Festival. The author of Oath is one of its patrons, together with Adam Asnyk and Tadeusz Gajcy. The festival’s mission is to remind about works by authors considered classics and – which often goes hand in hand – read mostly by reluctant students and Polish literature scholars.
